Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, have stepped up offensive operations against Boko Haram elements in Adamawa and Borno states, arresting suspected collaborators, killing insurgents and recovering weapons and drone equipment.

In a statement released on Friday, the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, said troops under Sector 4 of the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended a 28-year-old suspect, Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General Area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

The suspect was identified as a logistics supplier to the insurgents. Items recovered from him included an AK-47 magazine, 7.62mm ammunition, military gear and assorted food supplies. He is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.

In another operation in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, troops carried out an ambush along the Visik River line, where they killed a terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from him.

Acting on intelligence reports, troops also arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, described as a collaborator who supplied drones to insurgents. The military said the drones were modified locally and used in attacks against security personnel.

Recovered items included two aerial drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks, indicating the increasing use of technology by insurgents in the region.

Meanwhile, in Borno State, troops working alongside local vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force repelled insurgent activities in Ngamdu. During the operation, a suspected informant was killed while attempting to infiltrate defensive positions. Additional logistics materials were recovered.

The military said the operations are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt Boko Haram’s supply networks, restore stability and protect communities across the North-East.

The High Command commended the troops for their commitment and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and urged them to maintain the momentum in ongoing operations.
