Two men suspected to be political thugs from Edo State have reportedly arrived in Osun State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, issuing threats against Governor Ademola Adeleke and singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
Drivetvnews gathered that a 1-minute, 38-second video circulating online showed the two men claiming they had travelled to Osun ahead of the poll.
In the video, they allegedly threatened to remove Adeleke from office while also warning Davido over his involvement in politics.
They claimed that Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State was prepared for the confrontation and vowed to “capture” Adeleke during the election.
The men also made threatening remarks against Davido, warning him against further involvement in the political process.
Following the circulation of the video, Davido tagged the Inspector-General of Police and the Department of State Services, DSS, apparently drawing their attention to the alleged threats ahead of the election.
The development has raised fresh concerns over the security situation in Osun, where political tensions have heightened ahead of the governorship poll.
The authenticity and identities of the individuals in the video have not been independently established.
