Comedian Basketmouth Extends Invite to Former Rival AY Makun for Lagos Concert

Renowned comedian Bright Okpocha, known as Basketmouth, has reached out to his former rival and colleague, AY Makun, inviting him to attend his upcoming concert in Lagos this Sunday. This gesture follows Basketmouth’s public apology to AY, resolving their 17-year-old feud.

Despite the reconciliation, Basketmouth clarified that AY won’t be performing or making a cameo appearance on stage during the event at the Eko Hotel & Suites tonight, as the show’s script is already finalized.

During an interview with Arise TV, Basketmouth explained, “AY is not scheduled to perform, but he will be attending. I sent him his ticket a few days ago. I understand many have been asking if he will perform. He’s not in the lineup.”

He further outlined the concert’s lineup, stating, “In actual fact, there aren’t many comedians performing. Bovi will be introducing me. Senator, Dan The Humorous, and Aproko from Abuja are on the lineup. Additionally, we have a few acts from Ghana.”

Basketmouth highlighted the structured nature of the show, emphasizing its recording for television. He mentioned, “AY won’t even make a cameo because the show’s format is pre-planned. We’re recording for TV, so it’s a three-hour set. The directors and producers arrived a few days ago, and before their arrival, we had already finalized the entire show’s flow. It’s a precisely timed event, aiming for perfection.”
