Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin has been officially crownwd as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland. The coronation ceremony took place at the Labosinde compound, the ancestral seat authorized to crown Olubadans. Following his ascension, the new Olubadan proceeded to Ile Osemeji in Oja Oba area, a significant site where the prophecy concerning Ibadan’s future was revealed.

Currently, the new Olubadan resides at Ile Osemeji and is anticipated to soon move to the vicinity of Mapo Hall. He is scheduled to receive the staff of office and other ceremonial regalia from Governor Seyi Makinde at an impending ceremony. Governor Makinde had earlier established a 14-member committee, chaired by Commissioner Ademola Ojo of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, to oversee the coronation and presentation. Other committee members include Commissioners Wasiu Olatunbosun (Culture and Tourism) and Toyin Balogun (Women Affairs and Social Inclusion), among others, as disclosed by Commissioner Dotun Oyelade of Information in Ibadan.
