Martins Otse, a social media critic and influencer better known as VeryDarkMan, has addressed recent claims by Femi Falana regarding threats made against his daughters.
On September 24, 2024, VeryDarkMan released a voice recording of a conversation with Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky. In the recording, Bobrisky discussed a conversation he allegedly had with Falana’s son, Falz, while he was serving a six-month prison sentence in Ikoyi.
In the recording, Bobrisky claimed that Falz sought his assistance in obtaining a presidential pardon, which was purportedly valued at N10 million, through his father, Femi Falana.
After the recording was made public, Falz and his father threatened to pursue legal action against VeryDarkMan, accusing him of spreading false information.
On October 7, during an interview, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), expressed concerns for his daughters’ safety, citing threats he received after deciding to take legal action against VeryDarkMan. Falana, who had earlier denied any association with Bobrisky, described the threats as worrisome.
He said, “What worries me most about this situation is the danger to my life and my daughter’s life. Certain individuals, who seem unstable, have threatened to burn down my office if I proceed with the case, and have sent messages to one of my daughters, warning that they would kill her if I go to court.”
In response, VeryDarkMan posted a video on his Instagram page, denying any involvement with the alleged threats. He expressed his willingness to assist in identifying those responsible and made it clear that he does not support such actions.
He said, “I want to clarify that I have no knowledge of anyone making threats against Uncle Femi Falana or his family. I would never condone such actions. I am willing to collaborate with Femi Falana to find those behind these messages. I do not associate myself with this kind of behavior.”
