The organizers of the Taye Currency concert, held yesterday in Ibadan, Oyo State, disclosed that singer Habib Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was unable to perform due to concerns over security.

Jarule Entertainment, the event’s organizing body, explained that Portable’s recent remarks about Ibadan had raised significant security issues. After consulting with the Commissioner of Police and signing an agreement, the decision was made to exclude him from the event.

“Although the venue was secured, we received reports indicating that certain individuals were asking about Portable’s whereabouts and accommodations in Ibadan,” the organizers stated. “To ensure the safety of everyone, we decided it was best for him to stay away from the concert.”

Portable was the only artist scheduled to perform who did not appear on stage. The organizers expressed regret over the situation but maintained that safety remained their highest priority.

“We hope this issue can be resolved soon,” they concluded.
