Nollywood actress Keji Yusuf has shared her views on the current economic situation in Nigeria, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves a second term despite the hardship many citizens are experiencing.
Speaking in an interview, the actress praised Tinubu for introducing major reforms since taking office, including the removal of fuel subsidy, tax-related policies, and efforts aimed at recovering public assets and funds.
According to her, the President has shown strong leadership through difficult decisions that previous administrations avoided.
Keji Yusuf also expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure re-election in 2027, insisting that opposition figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi would not be able to achieve similar results if given the opportunity to lead the country.
She argued that many of the benefits of the administration’s policies have not reached ordinary Nigerians because of poor implementation by officials at lower levels of government.
According to the actress, local government authorities and other public office holders have failed to properly carry out directives meant to improve the welfare of citizens at the grassroots.
She maintained that while the President may be introducing policies and programmes, those responsible for executing them are not delivering effectively.
The actress also dismissed claims that her support for the ruling All Progressives Congress was motivated by personal gain, stressing that she was only speaking based on her personal conviction about the administration’s performance.
