Father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, Emmanuel Odiniya, has spoken publicly about the viral altercation involving his daughter, claiming he was provoked before the confrontation turned physical.
In a voice note circulating online, Odiniya said he still loves his daughter but felt hurt by what he described as a change in her attitude after winning the reality show.
According to him, he played a major role in supporting her journey during the BBNaija competition, claiming he used his influence and connections to mobilise votes for her emergence as winner.
He alleged that their relationship became strained after her victory, accusing the reality star of becoming disrespectful and ignoring him despite efforts to manage her appointments and engagements.
Odiniya also criticised some of her lifestyle choices, including alleged cosmetic procedures, saying he had advised her against them because of her age.
He further claimed that his daughter had physically attacked him on previous occasions, alleging that she once injured him with an AC hanger and, during the recent clash, struck him with an object after an argument escalated.
The father also accused Ilebaye of neglecting him financially despite his health challenges, alleging that she refused to assist him with medical treatment expenses while publicly spending money at social events.
He additionally alleged that she negatively influenced her younger brother and interfered in family matters, including his marriage.
Despite the accusations, Odiniya said he still desires peace and reconciliation within the family, adding that police intervention had helped calm the situation.
The incident became public after Ilebaye shared an emotional livestream video online, prompting widespread concern from fans and followers.
The spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that those involved sustained injuries and were receiving treatment while investigations continue.
