Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has predicted that the President will win the 2027 presidential election by a significantly wider margin than he recorded in 2023.
Drivetvnews gathered that Bwala made the prediction while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances of securing another term.
According to him, the difference between Tinubu’s votes and those of his opponents in 2027 would be considerably larger than the margin recorded during the 2023 presidential election.
Bwala said, “Let me tell you and let me say it categorically and I will be happy to come back. The margin of gap that President Bola Tinubu will give each and everyone of these candidates will be so much that you won’t believe it.”
Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election with 8,794,726 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar, by 1.81 million votes and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi by 2.69 million votes.
Bwala said his confidence was partly based on what he described as growing political support for Tinubu among governors elected on opposition party platforms.
Since the 2023 election, several governors elected under opposition parties have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
According to Bwala, the movement of opposition governors into the APC could strengthen Tinubu’s political structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He further predicted that more governors would support Tinubu in the next presidential election than those who backed him during the 2023 contest.
