Nigerian gospel artiste Busola Oke has opened up about her ongoing financial struggles, revealing that she is overwhelmed by debt and emotional distress.
During a recent live session on TikTok, the singer became visibly emotional as she discussed the difficulty of sustaining herself through gospel music. In a separate interview with actress Biola Bayo, shared on Instagram, Oke explained that her emotional breakdown was caused by prolonged loneliness, depression, and financial pressure.
She disclosed that she has not owned a car since 2020 and is currently battling multiple debts. According to her, she has quietly endured her situation for years without seeking public assistance because she did not want sympathy or ridicule.
Oke said that at one point she struggled to pay her annual rent of ₦1 million and even found it difficult to afford regular meals. She added that she is presently staying in a hotel but finds it challenging to cover the costs.
The singer lamented that the money meant for food is sometimes spent on transportation, as she relies on ride-hailing services to move around. She appealed for support, stating that she urgently needs stable accommodation and a vehicle, regardless of its condition, to help her rebuild her life.
Her revelation has sparked reactions on social media, with fans expressing concern and solidarity as she navigates this difficult period.
