President Bola Tinubu has temporarily suspended all programs managed by the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), including N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfer, Government Enterprise and Empowerment, and Home Grown School Feeding Programmes. The decision, outlined in a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, is a response to ongoing investigations into alleged mismanagement within the agency. The suspension, effective for a preliminary period of six weeks, aims to address concerns raised by President Tinubu regarding operational deficiencies and irregularities in beneficiary payments across the programs. In response, a ministerial panel has been established to conduct a comprehensive review of NSIPA’s operations, proposing essential reforms for the agency.Throughout this suspension period, all NSIPA-related activities, encompassing distributions, events, payments, collaborations, and registrations, will be put on hold. President Tinubu assures stakeholders and the Nigerian public of his administration’s commitment to a prompt and impartial process, ensuring that social intervention programs will function as intended, benefiting the most vulnerable citizens in the future.
