The Nigerian Army has announced that its troops killed four suspected insurgents, arrested collaborators, and recorded the surrender of a militant during ongoing operations in the North-East.
In a statement issued by Sani Uba, spokesperson for Operation HADIN KAI, the military said troops, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, engaged fighters moving from Yale towards the Sambisa Forest axis.
During the encounter, four insurgents were killed, while troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and food items believed to support their operations. All personnel involved returned safely without casualties.
The military also reported that intensified patrols and clearance missions along key routes, including Dambboa–Maiduguri and Dambboa–Gwoza corridors, have disrupted militant activities and restricted their movements.
In a separate operation, troops at Kanama arrested two individuals suspected of aiding insurgents during a routine stop-and-search exercise. Items recovered from them, including clothing and digital materials, are being examined for possible links to terrorist logistics.
Additionally, a suspected member of Boko Haram/ISWAP surrendered at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area. The individual claimed he was abducted and forced to join the group earlier in the year. He is currently undergoing interrogation and profiling.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region and urged residents to continue sharing useful information with security agencies.
