Two men, Kabiru Shehu and Ali Rabiu, faced remand in Keffi Prison until Feb. 22 by a Karu Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja. They were accused of impersonating military personnel and were arraigned on charges of conspiracy and impersonation. Despite pleading not guilty, the court decided on the remand to facilitate the completion of investigations into the case. The arrest took place on Jan. 16 at midnight, with a police team from Karu Police Station apprehending the defendants during a special raid on black spots. The prosecution highlighted the recovery of military camouflage caps and T-shirts from the accused, emphasizing their inability to provide a satisfactory account of themselves and the uniform. The charges brought against them were in violation of Sections 133 and 132 of the Penal Code.
