Adejobi announced that the recent operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the police to combat crime in the country.According to the post, the DFI-IRT of the Nigeria Police Force has achieved another success in its continuous endeavor to eliminate criminals, particularly kidnappers. On February 8, 2024, in the early hours, IRT operatives neutralized a group of notorious kidnappers and gun runners who had been causing trouble in Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa states. The operation took place at their hideout near Gitata, along Keffi Gidan Wire Road, Nasarawa State. Additionally, four AK47 rifles, other dangerous weapons, and a bag of ammunition were seized. The successful operation, conducted on Thursday morning, showcases the NPF’s firm dedication to safeguarding the populace.”We are committed to using every necessary means to rid our communities of criminal elements and uphold peace and order nationwide,” stated Adejobi. This development follows the recent announcement by the police of the elimination of a kidnap gang leader in Abuja about a week ago.
