Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke has opened up about the financial burden she faced while battling a serious health condition, revealing that her medication cost as much as N800,000 every month.
Drivetvnews gathered that the actress made the disclosure during an interview on African A List, where she spoke about the support she received from friends, colleagues and well-wishers during the difficult period.
According to Oshodi-Oke, APC chieftain Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and several colleagues in the entertainment industry played important roles in helping her through the health crisis.
She also recounted receiving N150,000 from actress Sotayo Gaga despite the fact that the two had not spoken for several years following a disagreement.
Oshodi-Oke said Sotayo reached out financially after learning about her condition, describing the gesture as significant because they had previously stopped communicating.
The actress further revealed that the experience affected her spiritual outlook and eventually led her to join the Celestial Church of Christ.
She explained that she made the decision while she was seriously ill and stressed that she does not condemn people who practise other religions.
