President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun as the Director of Fundraising for the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Drivetvnews gathered that Abiodun’s appointment was announced as part of a broad campaign structure unveiled by the Presidency on Saturday, with Tinubu himself taking charge as Chairman.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda will serve as Vice Chairmen, while former Zamfara Governor Abdulaziz Yari was named Director-General.
Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as Secretary, supported by APC National Secretary Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary.
In his fundraising role, Abiodun will coordinate the mobilisation of financial resources and campaign support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The campaign council features several senior APC figures, including Bisi Akande, Segun Osoba, Rochas Okorocha, Abdullahi Adamu and Florence Ita Giwa as advisers.
The structure also assigns major responsibilities to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni, Adams Oshiomhole and James Abiodun Faleke, among others.
Faleke, who was active in the 2022/2023 presidential campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.
The campaign’s media operation will be led by Information Minister Mohammed Idris Malagi alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu. Segun Dada returns as Director of New Media.
Tinubu urged members of the council to work aggressively towards securing victory for the APC in 2027 and asked campaign leaders to bring other party members into the effort, even if they were not formally listed in the council.
The President also directed the campaign team to highlight what his administration considers its achievements and convince Nigerians that the APC government has placed the country on a path of economic progress.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga on August 22, 2026.
