The burial arrangements for veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have been announced following his death on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Drivetvnews gathered that Fellow veteran actor Jide Kosoko announced the arrangements in a statement shared on his Instagram page.
Hassan reportedly died at about 3:00 p.m. on Sunday after battling cancer. He was 66.
According to Kosoko, the late actor’s remains will be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, on Sunday ahead of the burial rites.
The lying-in-state ceremony is scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Pavillon, Ilaro, Ogun State, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In his statement, Kosoko expressed sadness over the death of the veteran actor and prayed for comfort and strength for his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones.
He also prayed that Almighty Allah grant Ogogo eternal rest.
Taiwo Hassan was a respected figure in the Nigerian film industry, particularly renowned for his contributions to Yoruba-language Nollywood.
