Veteran Yoruba actor Peter Fatomilola has recounted how skit maker and actor Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, surprised him with a ₦1 million payment after they worked together on a film.
Fatomilola disclosed this in an upcoming interview with African A-List, also known as AfricanaList, while reflecting on his experiences in the entertainment industry.
The veteran actor said he had not agreed on any fee with Mr Macaroni before accepting the role.
He recalled meeting the actor at a film location in Fiditi, Oyo State, where he completed two scenes. According to him, he was paid ₦50,000 by the person who hired him, while Mr Macaroni separately gave him ₦200,000 for fuel before he left the location.
Fatomilola said the gesture impressed him and later led to another invitation to work on a project in Lekki, Lagos.
He travelled to Lagos for the production and was surprised to discover that he would be acting alongside another veteran, Pete Edochie.
According to him, after completing his role, Mr Macaroni told him that he was satisfied with his performance.
Fatomilola said Mr Macaroni subsequently gave ₦100,000 to his son and another ₦50,000 to his grandchild. The gestures made him suspect that he might also receive money for his own participation.
However, he said there had been no prior discussion or agreement about his fee.
The actor explained that he only learnt how much had been sent to him after leaving the Lekki location. When he asked about the amount, he was told that Mr Macaroni had sent ₦1 million.
Fatomilola described the gesture as a memorable experience and expressed appreciation to Mr Macaroni for his generosity.
