The Osun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has dismissed one of its officers, Awopeju Cornelious Sanjo, over alleged gross misconduct.
Sanjo, whose service number is OSNA/2021/00018, was dismissed following disciplinary proceedings conducted on Monday, October 26, 2026.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the corps’ Public Relations Officer, CSA Yusuf Idowu Abass, the allegations against the officer were formally presented to him by the Command’s Ambassador Provost, CSP Joshua Omogbehin (retd.).
The statement said Sanjo acknowledged the allegations during the proceedings, after which the command dismissed him in accordance with the public service regulations governing the conduct of its personnel.
Following his dismissal, Sanjo was directed to surrender all Amotekun uniforms, equipment and other official materials in his possession as part of the disengagement process.
Reacting to the development, the Corps Commander, High Chief Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to discipline, professionalism and accountability among its personnel.
Omoyele warned that the corps would not tolerate indiscipline, misconduct or any action capable of damaging the organisation’s reputation.
He stressed that all officers were expected to maintain high standards of conduct and perform their duties in line with the rules and regulations governing the corps.
The commander also urged personnel to remain disciplined, vigilant and committed to their responsibilities, warning that officers found guilty of gross misconduct would face appropriate disciplinary measures.
Amotekun Warns Public
The corps also urged members of the public to take note of Sanjo’s dismissal, emphasising that he was no longer an operative of the Osun Amotekun Corps.
The command advised residents not to recognise or present him as a serving Amotekun officer, stating that he no longer had the official status or authority to act on behalf of the security organisation.
The corps reiterated its determination to enforce discipline, protect public confidence and ensure that its personnel conduct themselves in accordance with the organisation’s objectives.
It added that it remained committed to professionalism, accountability and the protection of lives and property across Osun State.
