The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, thinks the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is focusing on the wrong thing by going after people who misuse the naira. He says spraying money is part of the Yoruba and Igbo culture.
He believes people need to know the consequences of misusing money before they can stop doing it. He wants the EFCC to educate people about how to handle money properly before they start punishing them.
He also thinks the EFCC should use newspapers, TV, and radio to tell people what counts as misusing money and what will happen if they do it. He hopes this will stop people from doing it and help the EFCC catch those who still do.
Lastly, he thinks corrupt officials should face harsh punishments, like the death penalty, to stop corruption in Nigeria.
