In Kano, the police arrested Sadiq Zubairu for killing his friend, Bello Adam. This tragic incident happened because Zubairu made a promise to Adam. They used to work together at the Kano Electricity Distribution Company, and Zubairu said he would help Adam get a job at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). Adam trusted Zubairu and even gave him three million naira to help make it happen.
However, things didn’t go as planned. Despite taking Adam’s money, Zubairu couldn’t fulfill his promise. Adam started asking Zubairu about the job and the money, putting pressure on him. Feeling trapped and unable to find a way out, Zubairu resorted to a terrible decision.
He invited Adam to his house, but instead of helping him as promised, Zubairu attacked him. He tied Adam up and hit him with sticks and sharp objects until Adam couldn’t move anymore. Then, Zubairu left Adam’s body by the side of the road and took his car and phone.
The police became involved when Adam’s family reported him missing. They found Adam’s body and traced the crime back to Zubairu. During questioning, Zubairu admitted to what he had done.
This sad event serves as a reminder of the consequences of dishonesty and betrayal. It’s a tragic outcome of a broken promise and a breach of trust between friends. It highlights the importance of honesty and integrity in all our interactions with others.
