Lagos court has sentenced Benjamin Ogba, a head teacher, to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting two 7-year-old girls. Justice Abiola Soladoye delivered the verdict, citing overwhelming evidence of defilement.
The judge criticized Ogba’s testimony as “untrustworthy” and “deceptive,” labeling him a “serial paedophile.” She expressed disappointment that a role model had engaged in such egregious misconduct.
Justice Soladoye praised the victims’ courage and emphasized the importance of reporting such crimes. She urged parents to be vigilant and report suspicions to authorities, calling for continuous education and awareness on sexual abuse.
Ogba was sentenced to life imprisonment for each count, to run concurrently. His name will be entered into the Lagos State Sex Offences Register.
