President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, on his 50th birthday anniversary. In a statement released by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised the Ooni’s exceptional leadership and maturity since ascending the throne at 41 ¹. He highlighted the Ooni’s significant role in preserving the rich Yoruba traditions in Ile-Ife, known as “The Source” ¹.

President Tinubu commended the Ooni’s deep sense of duty, wisdom, and knowledge in fulfilling his responsibilities as traditional ruler and spiritual leader of the Yoruba people ¹. He also acknowledged the Ooni’s critical contributions as Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, where he promotes unity, supports government policies, and advocates for religious tolerance and peace ¹.

Furthermore, President Tinubu recognized the Ooni’s tireless efforts in empowering women and youth through education and entrepreneurship, showcasing his admirable philanthropy and commitment to uplifting those in need ¹. The President expressed heartfelt optimism and support, paying tribute to the Ooni for exemplifying traditional Yoruba values of humility, peace, and generosity while maintaining the dignity of his throne ¹.

This milestone birthday celebration honors the Ooni’s remarkable leadership and contributions to the Yoruba community and Nigeria as a whole. Born on October 17, 1974, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has been the 51st Ooni of Ife since 2015, succeeding Oba Okunade Sijuwade ².
