Yinka Ayefele, a prominent Nigerian gospel singer, has taken a firm stance amid widespread online criticism. He is calling for an end to the negative portrayal of a former ritualist and contract killer he recently interviewed on his radio show.

The man, who is now considered reformed, admitted to killing 78 people, most of them women, as sacrifices to his deity in pursuit of power and wealth.

These shocking revelations have sparked significant outrage online, with criticism directed at both the reformed man and Ayefele himself.

In response to the backlash, Ayefele participated in an audio call with media personality Yinka TNT on her online platform to address the controversy directly.

Ayefele firmly denied accusations from traditional worshippers who claimed he disrespected their beliefs during the interview.

He explained that he chose to protect the former ritualist’s identity not to shield him, but out of his own moral convictions.

Yinka TNT supported Ayefele’s decision, emphasizing that ethical journalism often involves tackling difficult subjects.

Ayefele’s main message was a call for empathy in the face of public anger. He urged those demanding the reformed man’s arrest to reconsider, arguing that continued stigmatization could drive him back to a life of crime—a life he has already moved on from after serving his sentence.
