The Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, widely known as Bobrisky, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky had alleged that the EFCC violated his rights and sought ₦200 million in damages for the harm he claimed to have suffered. He also demanded ₦1 billion from the National Assembly, accusing it of failing to address his concerns, which he argued was a breach of his constitutional rights. Additionally, he sought an injunction to prevent the EFCC and the National Assembly from defaming him, imprisoning him, or labeling him in a negative light.

This legal action followed earlier allegations by Martins Otse Vincent, also known as VeryDarkMan, who claimed Bobrisky accused EFCC officials of extorting ₦15 million from him to influence the outcome of a case.

In April, the EFCC accused Bobrisky of engaging in illegal financial activities. The commission alleged that his company, BobExpress, was involved in unauthorized transactions totaling ₦60 million. During court proceedings, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to six months in prison.

While ruling on the current case, Justice Alexander Owoeye declared that Bobrisky’s claims against the EFCC were baseless and unsupported by credible evidence. The court found no merit in the lawsuit, leading to its dismissal without any penalties or damages awarded against the EFCC.

The EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the court’s decision in a statement released on Wednesday.
