Renowned Nollywood actress Ronke Odusanya has opened up about the challenges surrounding her marriage to Saheed Olarewaju, popularly known as Jago, shedding light on the circumstances that led to their separation.
In an interview on Wasila Coded TV with host and fellow actress Bimpe Akintunde, Odusanya disclosed that a close friend played a significant role in their split by spreading harmful rumors about her.
According to Odusanya, the friend falsely accused her of planning to leave her marriage to engage in prostitution and even claimed she was having an affair with a senator.
“My friend told my partner that I wanted to leave him and become a prostitute. She also said I had gone to a senator’s house with our daughter, Fife. I was in shock when he told me these things,” Odusanya revealed.
These accusations, she explained, created serious tension in her relationship with Jago. However, she was able to counter the claims by providing evidence that disproved the allegations.
“God was with me because I had recorded a video on my phone showing the time and date when we arrived at the place we were staying. I sent it to him as proof,” she explained.
Reflecting on the aftermath of the separation, Odusanya shared the financial struggles she faced, noting how the experience tested her resilience.
“When I left, I had less than ₦10,000 in my account. That was all I had. They even took all my jewelry, and I was devastated. I fainted that day because I didn’t know where to start. I cried endlessly, wondering how I would afford accommodation,” she recounted.
Despite these challenges, Odusanya’s story highlights her determination to move forward and rebuild her life.
