President Bola Tinubu has expressed his satisfaction with the 2023 presidential election outcome in Nigeria, crediting his success to the support of the people who believed in him. Speaking at the closing ceremony of a retreat for government officials, Tinubu proudly acknowledged his victory, emphasizing his triumph over challenges brought to the Supreme Court by opponents, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
Additionally, Tinubu set clear performance standards for his ministers and government officials during the retreat. He emphasized their role in delivering on the expectations of Nigerians, stating that those unable to contribute to his administration’s success are free to leave. This criterion received praise from Atiku Abubakar’s spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, who noted that based on these standards, many ministers might lose their positions in January, with only three ministers likely to survive the evaluation.
