The Adamawa State Police Command announced on Sunday the arrest of a herbalist, Murtala Musa, in connection with the death and mutilation of an 11-year-old boy in Kodomun village, located in the Demsa Local Government Area.
According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the incident was brought to the attention of the police on April 13, 2025, by the Village Head of Kodomun and the child’s mother, Fancy Alifas.
The report stated that the deceased, Yangapwa David, had been taken to the herbalist for treatment but sadly died while under his care. The mother explained that preparations were made to transport her son’s body home, during which time it was left in the herbalist’s room. However, upon her return, she was horrified to find that one of her son’s eyes had been removed.
Following the report, police officers promptly responded to the scene and apprehended the suspect, Nguroje confirmed.
In response to the disturbing case, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, assured the public that the command is committed to a thorough investigation and will ensure justice is served.
