President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has held a closed-door meeting with the recently appointed Service Chiefs at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting, which took place three days after the announcement of their appointments, marked the President’s first official interaction with the new military leadership.

According to the Presidency, the new appointments are part of a strategic effort to strengthen professionalism within the armed forces, boost morale among personnel, and improve collaboration among security agencies to enhance national security operations.

Those present at the meeting included the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Waheedi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke; and Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.

Also in attendance was the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye, who continues to serve in his position.

Although the details of the President’s directives were not disclosed, sources at the Presidential Villa revealed that discussions focused on national security priorities, ongoing counterterrorism operations, and the administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the country.
