Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has demanded DNA tests for the two children he has with actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, also known as Ashabi Simple, before agreeing to take responsibility for their upkeep.

Drivetvnews gathered that Portable made the demand in an Instagram Story on Friday, saying he wanted the paternity of the children confirmed because he did not trust Ashabi.

The singer said he would not provide further support until the DNA tests were conducted, insisting that he needed confirmation that the children were biologically his.

In a voice note circulating online, Portable also questioned Ashabi’s movements during their relationship, particularly periods when she was away from home for movie productions.

He said the children’s resemblance to him was not sufficient proof of paternity.

The demand followed accusations by Ashabi that Portable had not been providing enough financial support for their children.

Ashabi claimed that between January and September, Portable had given only ₦200,000 towards the upkeep of their two children. She also alleged that she had paid their school fees for three terms and handled their feeding and clothing.

She said she had repeatedly contacted Portable because she wanted him to take greater responsibility for the children’s welfare.

In another exchange shared online, Portable reportedly told Ashabi to either take care of the children herself or hand them over to him.

Ashabi subsequently accused the singer of refusing to take responsibility for the children, while Portable rejected her reported appeal for them to put their differences aside for the sake of their children.

The dispute has continued to play out publicly on social media, with both parties making allegations and sharing details about their relationship and the welfare of their children.
