Lagos Labour Party Demands Clarity on #EndSARS Victim Burials and Economic Solutions

The Lagos State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has raised serious concerns about the burial of 103 corpses reportedly linked to the #EndSARS protest. They are demanding more transparency from the government regarding the circumstances of these deaths. The party is skeptical of the government’s initial claim that only one person was killed during the protests and wants further clarification on the identities of the deceased.

The LP criticized the state government’s decision to conduct mass burials without allowing the families of the deceased to identify the bodies. They believe that families should have the chance to properly identify their loved ones and bid them a dignified farewell.

Another point of contention is the involvement of the military at the Lekki Toll Gate during the #EndSARS protests. The LP is seeking an explanation on who invited the military and why similar protests in the past did not lead to casualties.

The party reaffirmed its support for their presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and his petition before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT). They hope for a fair and unbiased handling of the case by the judiciary, as the nation’s well-being depends on their decisions.

The LP criticized the proposed N8,000 palliative suggested by President Bola Tinubu to address the economic hardships resulting from the Fuel Subsidy removal. They argue that this amount is inadequate and does not effectively address the nation’s economic challenges, which have led to high inflation rates and currency devaluation.

Despite the challenges, the LP remains hopeful for a better Nigeria and believes positive changes can be achieved when their “stolen mandate” is recovered.

In conclusion, the Lagos State chapter of the Labour Party is seeking transparency, justice, and economic solutions for the #EndSARS victims and the Nigerian people.
