Tinubu Sends Condolences to Super Eagles Captain Ndidi Over Father’s Death
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his sympathies to Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi following the death of his father, Sunday Ndidi.
Sunday Ndidi reportedly died in a fatal road accident that occurred on Tuesday in Umunede, near Agbor in Delta State. Wilfred Ndidi, who currently plays for Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas, was said to be deeply affected by the loss.
In a condolence message released on Wednesday through his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the death as tragic and painful. He said he shares in the sorrow of the Ndidi family and acknowledged the strong bond between Wilfred Ndidi and his late father, who served as a mentor and guide throughout his football journey.
The President also noted that Sunday Ndidi’s humble background and integrity left a lasting impression on those who knew him and looked up to him for inspiration.
Tinubu prayed for comfort for the bereaved family and asked God to grant eternal rest to the departed.
