Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has responded to criticism over his frequent dancing at public events, insisting that his love for dancing has never prevented him from carrying out his responsibilities as governor.
Drivetvnews gathered that Adeleke addressed the criticism in a post shared on his official social media account, where he explained that dancing is part of his family’s lifestyle.
According to the governor, being seen dancing does not mean he is neglecting his duties or responsibilities in office.
“I dance because in my family, we are jolly good fellows,” Adeleke said.
He stressed that there is a proper time for everything, including recreation and official duties, adding that his dancing should not be interpreted as a sign that he is not working.
“As I am dancing, I am working. There is time for everything, there is time to dance and there is time to work,” he stated.
The governor also rejected suggestions that his public displays of dancing have affected his performance in office.
Adeleke maintained that his administration has continued to execute projects and programmes across various sectors of the state.
“Dancing does not stop me from working. I have delivered across all sectors,” he added.
The governor’s comments come as he faces a closely contested re-election battle ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election, with his public personality and performance in office remaining subjects of political debate.
