Veteran Nollywood actor Prince Adewale Adeoye Elesho has successfully undergone surgery, with the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) confirming that he is stable and recovering.
Drivetvnews gathered that the update was issued on Saturday, August 29, by Prince Adejonwo Oluwafemi, the National Publicity Secretary of ANTP. He expressed appreciation to fans, colleagues and well-wishers who had prayed for the actor and shown concern over his health.
The development follows days of speculation on social media about Elesho’s health, including unconfirmed claims that he was suffering from skin cancer. The rumours reportedly intensified after fans noticed changes in his appearance at a public event.
Addressing the situation, Oluwafemi said the actor’s operation had been successfully completed and that he was responding well during his recovery.
The announcement prompted an outpouring of relief and goodwill from fans on social media, with many offering prayers for Elesho’s continued recovery and good health.
Elesho had earlier raised concerns about his health while attending the funeral rites of fellow veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, in Ilaro, Ogun State, on August 24.
While paying tribute to the late actor, Elesho described Ogogo as an “omoluabi,” highlighting his character, integrity and good upbringing.
The latest confirmation of Elesho’s successful surgery has brought renewed relief to his fans and colleagues, who continue to wish him a full recovery.
