The Lagos State Police Command has identified officers seen in a viral video allegedly collecting ₦20,000 from a man before releasing his motorcycle.
The officers, according to the command, are personnel attached to the Makinde Divisional Headquarters and have been directed to report to the state police headquarters for questioning.
The development followed the circulation of a video in which a man alleged that he was compelled to pay ₦20,000 before his motorcycle was released.
The officers were visibly captured in the footage, prompting the police command to commence an investigation into the allegation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, directed that the matter be investigated and the officers involved interviewed.
The command said the investigation was ongoing and that appropriate action would be taken based on the outcome of the findings.
