Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has said she plans to return to filmmaking after making her celebrity boxing debut against reality TV star Phyna.
Drivetvnews gathered that Blessing lost the bout by knockout but described her first experience in the boxing ring as a courageous challenge, noting that she had only trained for two days before the contest.
In an Instagram post on Friday, the actress maintained that she remained proud of her performance despite the result and jokingly said she was ready to return to acting because boxing was not her profession.
Despite the defeat, Blessing said she would consider participating in another boxing contest in the future.
Reflecting on the experience, she said she had never fought anyone before but managed to step into an unfamiliar environment and face the challenge with courage.
The actress also dedicated her participation to her late mother, Gloria Obasi Sunday. She said she wanted her mother to be part of the moment and had requested that her late mother’s favourite song be played before she entered the ring.
Blessing expressed appreciation to Balmoral Promotions and Bet9ja for giving her the opportunity to participate in the celebrity boxing event, describing the experience as memorable.
