Nigerian skit maker and boxer Carter Efe has defeated controversial entertainer Speed Darlington by unanimous decision to retain his celebrity boxing championship.
The bout went the full four rounds, with all the judges scoring the contest in favour of Carter Efe, allowing him to maintain his unbeaten record in celebrity boxing.
Speed Darlington entered the fight hoping to take the title from the defending champion, but Carter Efe secured the victory after four rounds.
Following the win, Carter Efe disclosed that he intends to marry his girlfriend, Taylor Jasmine, before considering another boxing contest.
The champion, however, said he remains interested in facing bigger names in boxing, mentioning former world champion Floyd Mayweather as one of his dream opponents.
“I want to fight with men, like Mayweather,” Carter Efe said.
His comment attracted laughter when he was asked whether a bout with Mayweather could realistically happen, with the response indicating that such a fight was highly unlikely.
Carter Efe later expressed appreciation to his supporters for standing by him and celebrating his victory.
The contest was one of the major attractions at the celebrity boxing event, which also featured a bout between reality TV personality Phyna and actress Nkechi Blessing.
Phyna defeated Nkechi Blessing by a fourth-round knockout, earning the championship belt and a brand-new car.
