A Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has sentenced Bamidele Folorunsho to 10 years in prison for indecently touching a 12-year-old girl’s breasts and anus.
The incident occurred in February 2018, and Folorunsho was initially charged with defilement. He was arraigned in October 2021 and pleaded not guilty. However, he later opted for a plea bargain, admitting to two amended counts of indecent treatment and sexual assault.
Justice Rahman Oshodi, who delivered the verdict, found Folorunsho guilty based on his plea. The prosecution stated that Folorunsho’s actions contravened Sections 135 and 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Folorunsho’s sentence will commence from March 22, 2018, and his name will be registered as a sex offender.
