Content creator and relationship commentator Emmanuel Obruste, popularly known as GehGeh, has disclosed that his recently viral wedding ceremony was not real but a carefully planned publicity stunt and social experiment.
Drivetvnews gathered that the ceremony, which featured GehGeh and a woman dressed in matching burgundy traditional attire, sparked widespread speculation over the weekend that the outspoken influencer had secretly gotten married. The videos also attracted criticism from fans, fellow content creators and even some of his family members, who questioned why they were not invited.
Speaking during an interview with StreamRewind, GehGeh explained that the event was organised solely to measure public reactions and generate awareness.
“We organised everything as a normal promo. Apart from that, I wanted to see how the public would react,” he said.
He added that the stunt was also intended to clear up what he described as misconceptions surrounding the teachings of his self-styled “GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University.”
According to him, many people wrongly believe he advises men never to marry.
“I have never told anyone not to marry. What I have always said is that if you decide to marry, consider polygamy instead of monogamy,” he explained.
GehGeh argued that polygamy helps reduce emotional manipulation by a single partner, claiming it aligns with practices adopted by previous generations.
“Having more than one wife makes it difficult for one woman to manipulate you. That is one of the core principles I teach,” he said.
His explanation comes after the staged wedding videos triggered intense debate online, with many accusing him of abandoning the relationship philosophy that has defined his online brand.
