Nigerian entertainer Portable has issued a bold challenge to heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua, saying he is willing to step into the ring with him for a ₦1 billion prize.
The singer made the statement during a public face-off ahead of his upcoming celebrity boxing match against Carter Efe. Showing confidence in his abilities, Portable claimed he is currently the face of boxing entertainment in Nigeria and insisted no one could take his “belt.”
He declared that he would be ready to fight Joshua if the financial offer is right, adding that the proposed ₦1 billion purse would be enough motivation.
Portable and Carter Efe are scheduled to face off in an exhibition bout at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The singer had earlier disclosed that he earned ₦40 million for agreeing to the fight. He also revealed that businessman E-Money and music executive Soso Soberekon promised him additional rewards, including cash and a car, if he emerges victorious.
On his part, Carter Efe said he accepted the match after learning that the winner would receive a ₦50 million prize.
Portable has gained attention in recent years for participating in celebrity boxing matches. In previous bouts, he defeated Speed Darlington, actor Charles Okocha, and Kelvin Power, a bodyguard to Kizz Daniel.
