Senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Lawan, has distributed ₦135.65 million to executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC, across his constituency ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The development was disclosed in a statement shared on Facebook by the senator’s legislative assistant, Usman Alkali, who said the donation was aimed at supporting party officials during the festive season.
According to Alkali, the funds were shared with APC executives across Borno Central on Thursday as part of the senator’s continued support for party members and grassroots structures.
He noted that this was the third time Lawan had made such a financial donation since becoming a member of the National Assembly.
Alkali explained that the gesture was meant to appreciate the dedication and contributions of party executives toward strengthening democracy and sustaining the party’s activities within the constituency.
Meanwhile, the senator recently stepped down from the Borno governorship race and endorsed Mustapha Gubio, who is reportedly backed by Governor Babagana Zulum.
The decision was said to have followed a stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja, where party leaders agreed that Lawan should withdraw from the race and retain his Senate seat.
