The Oyo State Judicial Commission of Inquiry investigating the abduction of pupils and teachers in Esinele and Yawota communities, Oriire Local Government Area, has invited members of the public to submit memoranda to assist its investigation.
Drivetvnews gathered that the commission, inaugurated by Governor Seyi Makinde on July 31, said it is seeking facts, evidence and other relevant information regarding the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping.
According to the panel, submissions should include details about the security situation before, during and after the incident, the response of relevant authorities, and recommendations that could help prevent similar occurrences in the future.
In a public notice signed by the commission’s secretary, Olamide Tella, individuals, organisations and other stakeholders were encouraged to submit detailed memoranda, including their contact information and any supporting documents where available.
The commission disclosed that memoranda could be submitted physically at the Conference Room, Office of the Head of Service, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, or electronically.
It also announced that the deadline for receiving submissions is August 14, 2026.
The inquiry was established to determine the circumstances surrounding the school abduction, evaluate the response of relevant authorities and recommend measures to improve security and prevent a recurrence of similar incidents.
