Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will be defeated in the 2027 presidential election, insisting that financial inducements or food distribution will not guarantee electoral victory.
Speaking during a church service in Lagos, the cleric said attempts to influence voters with rice or money would fail because many Nigerians are frustrated by the country’s current economic challenges.
Primate Ayodele also expressed support for the recent comments made by Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, saying the cleric had spoken the truth about the situation in the country.
He argued that many religious leaders have failed to tell the President the reality of the hardship Nigerians are experiencing, while commending Onaiyekan for speaking out.
According to Ayodele, there is widespread anger and hunger across the country, warning that public dissatisfaction could shape the outcome of the next general election.
He further claimed that some presidential aides and political allies were misleading Tinubu instead of giving him honest advice, adding that such actions could have serious political consequences.
Ayodele maintained that unless the government addresses the concerns of citizens, the President would face significant challenges in securing re-election in 2027.
