The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu would relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos if he wins the 2027 presidential election.
Drivetvnews gathered that Ayodele made the claim in a video shared on X while speaking about Tinubu’s bid for another term in office under the All Progressives Congress.
According to the cleric, a Tinubu victory would bring significant changes to Lagos, including a possible relocation of the nation’s capital.
He suggested that the capital could eventually be situated in areas such as Epe or Lekki, depending on how the proposed development takes shape.
Ayodele’s statement comes as political activities surrounding the 2027 general elections continue to gain momentum, with Tinubu expected to seek re-election.
The cleric, however, presented the relocation claim as a prediction rather than an announced government policy.
No official statement from the Federal Government confirming any plan to move Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos was contained in the report.
