Popular TikTok personality Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, widely known as Peller, has addressed two major controversies involving his visit to the palace of Oba Ewuare II and a ₦395 million lawsuit filed against him.

Speaking during a livestream, Peller denied any wrongdoing and insisted he was not directly responsible for the incidents in question.

The first issue relates to his visit to the Benin Palace on March 6, 2026. The Benin Traditional Council described the visit as a violation of palace protocols and an act that disrespected sacred traditions. According to the council, Peller and his team allegedly entered the palace without proper approval.

The situation reportedly led to disciplinary measures, including the suspension of a chief, the arrest and prosecution of a palace staff member, and possible sanctions against a queen who appeared in related content. The council has also summoned Peller to appear before its committee and issue a written apology, warning that failure to comply could result in legal action.

In response, Peller explained that he acted on his manager’s instructions and was unaware that his visit breached any rules. He maintained that he behaved respectfully during the visit and did not intend to offend anyone.

The second controversy involves a ₦395 million lawsuit filed by Lagos resident Osarobo Odigie over an incident at a lounge in Lekki. In a legal notice issued through her lawyers, Odigie accused Peller of defamation, cyber harassment, invasion of privacy, and causing emotional distress. She claimed he recorded and shared a video of a confrontation without her consent.

The lawsuit seeks ₦200 million in damages for defamation, ₦100 million for emotional trauma, ₦75 million for cyberbullying, and ₦20 million to cover legal expenses.

Reacting to the case, Peller said he cannot afford the amount being demanded and appealed for understanding. He added that he had already apologised and asked for guidance, describing himself as a young person still learning.
