Nigerian actress and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, widely known as Kiekie, has stressed the importance of maintaining boundaries between personal life and professional work for celebrities and content creators.
Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, Kiekie revealed that she deliberately separates her personal identity from her public persona.
“I have established a clear distinction between my private self, Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori, and my brand as Kiekie. My brand encompasses roles such as event and TV host, actor, and content creator, with comedy being the core of my content,” she explained.
Kiekie stated that she does not include her husband, Tunji Ilori, in her content because “he is not funny,” while her daughter Nola occasionally appears because “she is made for the camera.”
However, she emphasized that there are limits to featuring her daughter, noting that she only creates content with her during school breaks.
Advocating for restraint among content creators, Kiekie warned against overexposing family members on social media.
“We often overuse viral moments until it becomes irritating, and that’s when oversharing occurs,” she added.
Kiekie’s comments highlight the balance content creators must strike between engaging audiences and respecting the privacy of loved ones.
