A pastor has stirred controversy online after claiming that if the late founder of the Christ Apostolic Church, Joseph Ayo Babalola, were alive today, he would “sit down and learn” from modern ministers like him.
Speaking during a sermon, the cleric argued that contemporary pastors now operate with greater manifestations of miracles and spiritual power than early revivalists whose works are still celebrated decades later.
According to him, “If people like us were talking, even Joseph Ayo Babalola, if he was alive, would sit down and learn from us. Because he did miracles in 1930, they’ve immortalized it till today.”
The pastor also claimed to have witnessed numerous miracles over the years, including alleged healings of blind people, people living with HIV, coronavirus patients, and several cases of people being raised from the dead.
He further shared a testimony about a woman identified as Bose, whom he claimed was declared dead at a hospital while pregnant before being taken to a prayer mountain for spiritual intervention.
According to the preacher, the woman’s mother-in-law began invoking “the God of 1930” and the legacy of Babalola during prayers, but he instructed her to stop. He claimed that after prayers were conducted, the woman allegedly came back to life along with her unborn child.
The remarks have since generated mixed reactions on social media, with many users debating the pastor’s comments about the late revivalist and his claims of extraordinary miracles.
