Kaduna State Police Command operatives, stationed at Tafa Divisional Headquarters, apprehended a suspected kidnapper and retrieved his portion of the ransom. The 28-year-old suspect, Bello Muhammad from Zamfara State, was arrested at Easyway Hotel in Tafa town. The Divisional Police Officer, with a team of operatives, seized the suspect along with two million, three hundred and fifty thousand naira (N2,350,000:00), believed to be from kidnapping activities.Upon investigation, Muhammad confessed to his involvement in kidnapping around Kagarko forest in Kaduna. His admission was supported by images on his phone, depicting him wielding an AK47 rifle in a forest. Additionally, the suspect attempted to bribe the DPO with one million naira to halt further inquiry, but the police officer declined. The ongoing investigation is being aided by the suspect’s cooperation, as he provides crucial information. Commending the Tafa Division’s operatives, Commissioner of Police A.D Ali urged them to intensify efforts in reducing crime in the state. He also called on hoteliers and recreational service providers to scrutinize customer identities, preventing criminals from finding refuge in their establishments.
