The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned President Bola Tinubu to address growing public concerns ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the administration could face a difficult contest if Nigerians’ grievances are not properly addressed.

Ayodele gave the warning in a statement issued on Tuesday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin.

The cleric said many Nigerians could use the 2027 election to express their dissatisfaction with the government, urging the President to take steps to rebuild public confidence before the election.

According to Ayodele, some individuals around the President may be giving him an overly positive picture of the political situation while pursuing their own interests.

He also predicted that some politicians who fail to secure opportunities or tickets within the ruling party could eventually work against Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Ayodele further identified former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other opposition figures as potential threats to the President’s political ambitions if they succeed in forming a strong coalition.

He said the President should not depend on alleged plans to manipulate the electoral process, arguing that Nigerians would resist any attempt to undermine the credibility of the election.

The cleric maintained that the 2027 contest could be highly competitive and urged the All Progressives Congress to engage more directly with citizens and respond to their concerns.

He said the administration needed to “pacify Nigerians” and regain their confidence rather than assume that its current political strength would automatically guarantee victory.

Ayodele’s comments come as political activities and realignments ahead of the 2027 elections continue to intensify, with opposition groups and political figures exploring possible alliances aimed at challenging the APC.

The cleric therefore advised President Tinubu to pay closer attention to public sentiment and address issues that could influence voters before the next general election.
