Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State have declared that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 is “non-negotiable,” expressing confidence that the President will secure overwhelming support across the state.
Drivetvnews gathered that the declaration was made on Monday in Owo during a meeting of APC elders and political stakeholders under the party’s Action Group. The leaders also dismissed reports of a crisis within the Ondo APC, insisting that alleged disagreements would not affect the President’s chances in the state.
Speaking at the meeting, the Action Group Coordinator in Owo and former Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adekola Olawoye (SAN), described Tinubu’s re-election as a national assignment requiring unity and determination.
Olawoye said Tinubu’s administration needed more time to consolidate what he described as the foundations being laid for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
He urged APC members to unite behind the President and mobilise voters across Owo and Ondo State ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Highlighting some of the administration’s achievements, Olawoye cited increased allocations to states, infrastructure expansion, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, local government autonomy and various social intervention programmes.
He also said Ondo State had benefited from the Federal Government through appointments and ongoing development projects.
On the Action Group, Olawoye said the organisation remained part of the progressive political movement that evolved from the original Action Group through the Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress, Action Congress of Nigeria and eventually the APC.
Addressing reports of a political rift between Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the former commissioner dismissed the claims.
He maintained that both politicians belonged to the same party and were focused on delivering victory for Tinubu in 2027.
A former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ajibola Adegoroye, said political leaders in Owo had already commenced grassroots mobilisation across the town’s wards.
According to him, Owo, known for its strong political influence, would work towards delivering massive support for Tinubu.
Adegoroye said the mobilisation exercise covered almost 15 wards, adding that the leaders were determined to secure what he described as “100 per cent votes” for the President in Owo and Ondo State.
